Home for Easter

April 11, 2009

Easter weekend, Ruben headed to South Texas to be with his family and I headed to Central Texas to be with mine.  That Saturday, I spent most of the day with my parents. We did a little geocaching and then spent some time with my sister at her place.

A New Cousin

Shortly after getting back to my parents’ house, my cousin Kristie came by and I was introduced to the newsest member of the family, her daugher, Jillian.

Early Easter

Early Easter morning, I accompanied my parents to church to attend their sunrise service.  Afterward the church hosted their traditional pancake breakfast.  For as long as I can remember, my Dad has cooked the pancakes for this event.

A Family Gathering

That afternoon, the entire family gathered at my parents’ home to eat, visit, and hunt eggs.  It’s a tradition of ours that the whole family (adults included) takes part in the hunt.  While the kids are challenged to find eggs of a specific color, that “big” kids have to find the egg with their name on it.  Those who hide the eggs try to make the hunt as challenging (and entertaining) as possible.
