		<description>Howdy John,

If you&#039;re not familiar with CHDK, follow this link.

http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK

You can hack the firmware of most powershots to give them built-in interferometers. This is the key to making a good camera kite rig. Once you set the camera aloft, it can snap shots for as long as the memory card and batteries last.

As far as kites and camera mounts go, google &quot;KAP&quot;
I made my own picavet mount. http://arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kap/equip/picavet.html
Just remember to keep it simple and lite.

BTW: You can also buy KAP kits.

Good luck. KAP can be fun, as long as the weather cooperates.

;-)

		<description>Hello Glen,

I was doing a Google search for &#039;geocaching&#039; when I ran across your posting. Specifically, I was intrigued by your kite camera rig. Since I was a youngster I have always enjoyed flying. In fact my kids prented me with a small Chinese kite for my birthday today. Would you share how you assembled your rig, or direct me to where I could acquire the plans to build my own? As I am employed by a camera company, I now have collected several small digital cameras which I would consider using for this purpose.

Regards,
John
