Another Tucker Update

June 1, 2009

Three Clowns

One Lab, Two Schnauzers

Tucker keeps growing and growing.  He’s already bigger than Ginger and Jasper but he’s still 100% puppy.

Bad Dog!

My friend, Rob warned me that Tucker would soon be entering a chewing phase, and he was right.  Ruben bought more toys and ropes to help keep Tucker occupied but unfortunately some of the furniture is showing Labrador-puppy-battle-scars.

Ginger’s Shadow

Tucker’s really bonded with Ginger.  When she goes somewhere, he’s usually right behind her.

rawhide…..lots and lots of rawhide. one isn’t enough…you have to make them more accessible than furniture… :)

Ice cubes help with the chewing phase. Molly ate all of our flip flops in the house, the TV remote, and then turned on the furniture. We found a “Chilly Bone” at PetCo that you soak in water and then freeze and give to the dogs to get through the chewing phase, but Molly would rather just have ice cubes to chomp on. Someone also told me if you add a little beef bullion to some water and then freeze into cubes that dogs will think they’re getting really spoiled. Ice is cheap… replacing furniture isn’t.

You should come visit some time!!

Great ideas! I never thought about ice, but I should have guessed. Tucker stands below the fridge when I get ice, hoping I’ll drop a cube. We’ll have to look for the Chilly Bone.

You should bring Tucker over for a playdate with Suki! She LOVES meeting new friends and sharing her baby pool! I’ve also invited Glenn and Milo, y’all should all come over!

PS Get the giant bag of giant rawhide rolls at Sam’s Club. It’s the only way to go!
