Up Through the Ground Came a Bubblin Crude
Have you ever had one of those “simple” problems turn into a complicated mess? That’s what happened to me with my yard, sprinkler system, and the main water-line to my house. To make a long story short, I had my sprinkler system fixed to insure my lawn wouldn’t die. A few days later, I noticed a water leak near my meter. The sprinkler repair crew came back to the house to make sure it wasn’t something they did wrong, BUT they never informed me they had confirmed that the leak wasn’t their fault. (OK I’m trying to keep this short). After dealing with three different plumbers for an entire day, I finally got the leak fixed…….I hope! FYI: Plumbers get paid well!

Putting Things Into Perspective
If wasting an entire day dealing with the water leak (and paying repairmen) wasn’t enough, Betty (my little maroon Kia) decided to breakdown. *sigh* I drive this not-so-fashionable car as part of my plan to be debt free. Betty is paid for, and gets the job done *knock on wood* The downside to owning a used car is that money saved can disappear when something breaks. Oh well, it still beats having to make a car payment each month.
Despite all these little frustrations, everything came into perspective when I learned that a friend of mine (about my age) recently suffered a stroke. Thankfully, she’s doing well and this experience, as she put it, has reminded her that the little things in life are the important ones. So when I think of all the problems I’ve recently had, they don’t seem so big. With that said, would you please pass the salt.
