Fiesta Texas with Esteban
August 12, 2009
The best time to go to a theme park like Six Flags is in the middle of the week (at the beginning or end of the season) because the crowds are usually very small. That’s what we did when Esteban visited us for a couple of days and convinced us to go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Shortly after we arrived at the park, poor Ruben’s stomach started bothering him, so he stayed away from the big coasters. We loved the short lines and the small crowds. My favorite ride was the Superman Krypton Coaster. I was crazy enough to record the experience. Check out the video at the end of this entry. We concluded our day at Fiesta Texas by exploring its water-park side. Thankfully, Ruben was feeling better by then, so all three of us could enjoy the water-slides. Our favorite was this over sized funnel shaped structure called the Tornado. Shortly before the park closed, we began our journey back to College Station. Along the way, we stopped at a great restaurant in New Braunfels called Clear Springs. It’s well worth the little 3-mile detour from the highway.

Fun Stuff! I love roller coasters.
What a great day and a nice cool off at the end with some rain.
Ummm, just to be clear, I got car sick on the way to the park.
That taquito that I ate at Whataburger did not sit well in my stomach
Damn taquito! Next time, we go on empty stomachs
that looks like so much fun.
Loved the roller coaster video! I assume, based on Ruben’s comment towards the end, that you experienced this ride AFTER the Rattler, no?
Those wooden coasters are pretty rough. Nice pics!
