Poor Tucker has Hip Dysplasia

October 1, 2009

For the past seven months, Ruben and I have enjoyed spending time with Tucker. Yes, this huge monster is just a seven-month-old puppy. Recently, we noticed that he was having trouble standing up and when he tried to run, he seemed to hop instead. Realizing that something was wrong, Ruben took him to the veterinarian , and was informed that Tucker has hip dysplasia. The ball and socket joints in Tucker’s hips did not grow at uniform rates. The veterinarian recommend surgery, but doing so could cost as much as $6,000. At this point, Ruben is doing his research, and contemplating the practicality of such a costly prodeedure (something he can’t afford)…..poor Tucker……poor Ruben.

Sorry to hear about your doggie woes. That’s a pretty common thing with that breed of dog (from what Lamon tells me all the time). Lamon may have some advice, but you’re right about the surgery being expensive and it’s a hard recovery as well. Good luck!!

OMG Tucker is SOOO much more calm than Milo. Milo would NEVER lay still that long and still be awake… Tucker IS a sweet puppy… :-)

Thanks again for letting me share part of my world with you.
