Skydiving 2010

October 2, 2010
When I turned 40, I wanted to go skydiving to celebrate, but Ruben wouldn’t let me *wink*. This year, his sister Elsa turned 25 and decided to mark the occasion by skydiving. When she asked me if I wanted to jump with her, I said yes. Somehow she managed to convince Ruben and Liz to join us. Early Saturday morning, Ruben and I drove South of Houston to meet Elsa, Liz, and Vann at Skydive Spaceland in Rosharon, Texas. In a couple of hours, we literally signed our lives away, took a short training course, boarded a plane and JUMPED! It was an amazing experience. We jumped at 14,000 feet, deployed our chutes at 6,000 feet and landed safely. The journey from jump to landing lasted four minutes, but it was an experience that will last forever.

Hey Cuz, I wanted to do the same thing on my 40th birthday and didn’t, here I am 45 and still haven’t. Maybe when I turn 50 I’ll do it. That would be so awesome. You’ll have to tell me about it someday.
