My little church in College Station isn’t as “little” as it used to be and that’s a good thing. To meet the challenges of a growing congregation, my church of “misfit toys” has decided to embark on a capital campaign to raise enough funds to expand our sanctuary and classroom spaces. It’s not going to be an easy task, but there’s a lot of truth to the phrase – “anything worth doing is never easy.” Early Sunday morning, members of Friends’ Church gathered for a breakfast to mark the beginning of our five-year journey to build a facility that will help us maintain our “extravagant welcome” to those looking for a church home.
