Panoramas and Public Relations

April 1, 2011
During the 2009 football season, I began taking gigapixel panoramic photos of games at Kyle Field. The images posted on AggieAthletics.com became very popular. My department supported this little PR project and I shot the 2010 season with a much better panoramic camera system. On the first of April, my department played host to the University System Chancellor’s Century Council (an influential group of system supporters). They came to our college and department to learn more about the Kyle Field Panoramic Project. I was a little nervous at first, but thankfully, the presentation went over very well. Later that evening, I attended the Century Council Annual Banquet at the Clayton Williams Alumni Center and enjoyed listening to former Astronaut, Richard Linnehan talk about his adventures working on the Space Shuttle and the Hubble Space Telescope.
