Because of “my faith” I suppressed my sexuality.
I made a lot of mistakes in my life during my pursuit for normalcy.
After a couple of life changing events, I walked through the doors of Friend’s Congregational Church in College Station, Texas to listen to Rev. Michael Piazza speak about being a gay believer. Piazza’s book, Holy Homosexuals, became a lifesaver for me. The bible can be interpreted in so many different ways, and “how it should be” translated and interpreted has been the source of so much pain and suffering for all kinds of people who are labeled “different.” I am sure there are those who could argue against every point that Piazza makes in his book, and that is fine. In this country, EVERYONE…and I do mean EVERYONE has the right to believe and worship freely.
