I took the photo above on my 14th birthday with my first 35mm SLR, a Pentax K1000 (I still have that camera).
I can thank both of my parents for getting me hooked on photography. I’ve always thought of cameras as little time machines that help us hold onto the past. Yes, that’s me to the right with my mom’s first camera. I doubt there was film in it.
Speaking of film, today I rarely use it. I’ve learned to take full advantage of the instant feedback that comes with using a digital camera and I never go anywhere without one.
