On the 23rd, I headed home to celebrate Christmas with my mom’s side of the. As usual, my mom cooked enough to feed a small army. We all had a great time, especially while playing a white-elephant gift game/exchange. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to spend time with my dad’s side of the family because of holiday scheduling conflicts. On Christmas Eve I accompanied my parents to the candlelight service at their church. Christmas morning was spent again with my parents, my sister, her husband, and their two sons. Later that afternoon, we were joined by my granny, and her best friend, Jule.
June 20, 2010 Sunday morning, I jumped in my little KIA and made my way to my parents’ place near West (the town). The weather that day was perfect. Shortly after I arrived my mom showed me the new pool they setup in the backyard for the grandsons. I visited with my mom while we [...]
May 9, 2010 Sunday morning, I drove to Gholson, Texas to celebrate Mother’s Day with my family. We gathered at my Granny’s house for lunch, then afterward I headed to my parents’ home. Early Saturday morning, I headed to Waco to watch my nephew “show” his calf at the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo. Glenn accompanied me on this trip while Ruben stayed home to study. The livestock competitions are grouped according to each breed. By the early afternoon, Clay’s group was called to the arena.
June 20, 2009 The day before Father’s Day, I drove to central Texas to spend a busy Saturday with my family. The first event of the day was a birthday celebration held in Hillsboro for my Great-Aunt, Josie. Soon afterward, my parents and I explored the area around Hillsboro while hunting geocaches. I’m glad my [...]
