June 6, 2011

If you’ve taken pictures of children or pets (or tried to), then you know how difficult it can be to get your subject to look at the camera. So, how can a photographer overcome this challenge? By accident, I stumbled upon a simple solution created by a photographer (and mother of four) in Gloucester, VA. She makes colorful camera-critters called “Lens Bling.” I bought one from her via Etsy, an online storefront where people sell their homemade creations. When my “Lens Bling” arrived, I tested it on Ginger. It seems to work well on pets. I tossed it in my camera bag so I’ll have it available the next time I have to photograph a small child. If you’d like order one, check out this Etsy Link.
