Ruben and I were so lazy during the final week of 2011. We spent most of it curled up on the couch with the dogs, watching episodes of ‘Community’ on Hulu. If you haven’t seen that show, watch it. My friend Catherine got us hooked on it. Anyway, we attended one final holiday event at Mike and Tom’s place along with Brian and Chris. It was a nice, relaxing evening spent with friends. A few days later, Ruben and I drove down to Houston to count down the final seconds of 2011 with Liz, Vann, Elsa, and Travis. Let’s hope 2012 is a much better year for us all.

This year, Ruben and I decided to stay in Aggieland and attend the final game against UT. Doing so meant neither one of us would be going home for Thanksgiving (the day of the game). Our friends, Mike and Tom invited us to join them for a Thanksgiving celebration at their home. BTW: It’s a given that when Mike does anything associated with food, you know it’s going to be great. That afternoon, Ruben and I joined a small group of friends at Mike and Tom’s place where I finally met their long-time-friends, Mildred and Margie. They’ve been a couple for 63 years. To quote them…”We’ve lived a full-life together, but 63 years goes by quick.

May 29, 2011 Sunday evening Ruben and I had Mike and Tom over for dinner. We had planned on spending Friday with them, but Tom (being the one for off-beat anniversaries) wanted to surprise Michael with an unexpected celebration of their 9,000th day together. Sunday, we fired up the grill to enjoy some summertime cooking [...]

February 6, 2011 This entry will cover a few events Ruben I took part in over the past few weeks. The fun began on a cold evening in John and Paul’s backyard as we joined them and a few of their friends for laughs and drinks around a warm fire. A week or so later, [...]

July 18, 2010 Sunday, Ruben and I accompanied Glenn to Mike’s Birthday party. It was a simple, relaxing, celebration spent sharing laughs and good food with good friends. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [...]

If you can’t look tough then pose like Charlie’s Angels. February 12, 2010 On a frigid Friday in February we went to Brad’s birthday bowling bash. Ruben and I had a great time with friends that night celebrating Brad’s birthday while we pretended we knew how to bowl. Towards the end of the evening, we [...]

May 20, 2009 I haven’t paid much attention to American Idol since its first year, but for some reason (Ruben) I got hooked on the show this season.  Wednesday evening, the competition came to an end with a big show, full of stars (Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen, KISS, Black Eyed Peas, etc…). I wasn’t surprised [...]
